Whether the material is of fossil or renewable origin, the recovery and reuse of production waste is a fundamental process aimed at reducing the environmental impact of a product and keeping raw material consumption in line with estimated needs.

Provided that waste is properly separated based on its different characteristics (pre/post consumption type, colour, material family), it can be used again in subsequent production processes in a range from 30% for thermosets and cross-linked plastics (EVA) up to 95% for thermoplastics (TPR and TPU).
For products containing more than 20% of recycled material by weight, Corplast is able to issue a GRS certification which guarantees not only the actual presence of recycled materials (Recycled Material Requirements), but also the traceability of the production process (Supply Chain Requirements), the restrictions in the use of chemicals (Chemical Requirements) and the respect of environmental and social criteria (Environmental and Social Requirements) in all stages of the production chain.
The GRS is a fundamental tool that fits in perfectly with Directive (EU) 2024/825 (a.k.a. the ‘anti-greenwashing’ directive) in force since 2025, which only protects companies that can prove their sustainability claims (without misleading consumers).
